Dear Iberia School District Families,

Yesterday, it was reported that a student at Iberia High School brought a pocket knife to school and allegedly displayed it in a threatening manner. Building staff responded to reports from students about this incident, confiscated the pocket knife, and had the student removed from school grounds. No student or staff member was harmed.

The District is prohibited by law from sharing specific disciplinary information regarding identifiable students. However, I can assure you that we have taken steps to address this incident and will determine appropriate disciplinary action. In addition, law enforcement is investigating the matter and the District is cooperating with their investigation.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to evaluate ways we can make our schools safer. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact me at 573-793-6818
