Iberia R-V School District
2020-2021 Reopening Plan
“At-A-Glance”
July 31, 2020
Three options for conducting school - On-Site, Alternating On-Site and Virtual, All-Virtual. At this point, we plan to follow Option 1: On-Site. Students will attend classes at school as usual starting August 24.
Do NOT come to school if you don’t feel well or if you’ve been in recent contact with an infected person. All attendance incentives will temporarily cease.
Families are encouraged to transport students to and from school in order to reduce the number of people on buses.
All students and staff will be screened for symptoms of COVID to start the school day. Those displaying COVID symptoms will need to leave school.
Health department guidelines will be followed regarding returning to school if symptomatic, sick or exposed.
Virtual options are available for students with pre-existing health conditions (CDC-noted) putting them at increased risk of the virus and for other students without such conditions who do not wish to attend on-site. The district will make use of Launch (administered by Springfield Public Schools) as its on-line course provider. Please complete this form if you wish to be considered for this virtual option: https://forms.gle/VisSMrkeMfMa...
At this point, masks are strongly encouraged, but not required in most settings. Of course, this could change at any time. The district is providing at least one reusable mask to each student and staff member.
Students will be given multiple opportunities daily to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer. Students are encouraged to bring their own water bottle.
Social distancing will be practiced to the greatest extent possible in our environment. We will spread out as much as we can and will try to limit close gatherings.
Stringent cleaning and disinfecting of the facilities will be completed regularly throughout the day and during evening custodial service.
If using virtual or distance learning, we will not use hold-harmless grading like we did in the spring, in which second semester grades could not be lower than 3rd quarter grades. Students will be expected to complete their work and their grades will be determined by meeting the requirements of the course/subject and by the quality of work.
Visits to school will be limited at this time and visitors may be subject to screening. If possible, business will be conducted at our service windows.
This plan is constantly evolving. As changes occur, announcements will be shared with the public.
